Read the passage, then answer the question.
The Snow Day Plan
When Nora woke up and saw the white yard, she jumped out of bed. School was closed, and she already had a plan. She would build the tallest snowman on Maple Street.
Her little brother, Sam, wanted to help, but Nora said no. "You'll just knock it over," she told him. Sam sat on the porch steps and watched.
Nora rolled a huge ball for the bottom. It was so heavy that she could not lift the middle ball on top of it. She pushed and pulled until her arms ached, but the ball kept sliding off.
"Sam," she finally called, "can you hold the bottom ball still?" Sam ran over and leaned against it with both hands. Nora lifted, Sam held, and the middle ball stayed in place.
By lunchtime the snowman was taller than Nora. She gave Sam the carrot so he could add the nose. "Our snowman," she said, and Sam grinned.
