55 analogies (50 scored): 'A is to B as C is to —' with word pairs testing vocabulary and relationships.
Quantitative Section
55 comparisons (50 scored): decide whether quantity A or B is greater, they're equal, or it can't be determined — math reasoning without heavy computation.
How to prep for the SCAT (CTY)
- Learn the quantitative-comparison format cold: the four fixed answer choices never change, and knowing them saves precious seconds.
- Drill analogies by naming the RELATIONSHIP first (part-to-whole, cause-effect, degree) before scanning options.
- Because it's above-grade-level, expect unfamiliar content — teach your child that educated guessing is expected, not failure (there's no penalty).
